Unbelievably GF (“we,” “us,” “our”) runs unbelievablygf.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have a question about any of it, email unbelievablygf@gmail.com or write to Unbelievably GF, 3785 Via Nona Marie, Suite 108, PMB 1085, Carmel, CA 93923.
Information you give us
- Email sign-ups. When you sign up for my free recipes or newsletter, we collect your email address and your first name if you share it. Your details are stored with our email provider, MailerLite. We use them to send what you asked for, plus new recipes, gluten-free product picks and occasional offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to see whether you have a profile picture there (Gravatar privacy policy).
- Messages. If you email us or use a contact form, we use what you send to reply to you.
- Purchases. If you buy one of our e-books, the order is handled by Payhip, and payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We receive your name, email address and order details so we can deliver your purchase. We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how people use the site: pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location (city or region) and the site that referred you. This helps us decide what recipes to make next. Read Google’s privacy policy, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Security. Our security tools log IP addresses and visit details to protect the site from attacks and spam.
- Cookies. Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We and the services above use them to remember your comment details (for one year, if you choose), keep the site running smoothly, measure traffic and track affiliate referrals. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. We also take part in other affiliate programs, such as ShopMy. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set its own cookies to record that you came from our site. Their use of your information is covered by their own privacy policies.
Embedded content and social media
Posts may include videos, photos or posts embedded from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and other sites, along with buttons to save or share recipes. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other site. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the content, especially if you are logged in to them.
Advertising
We don’t show display ads right now. If we add an advertising partner in the future, we’ll update this policy before ads go live to explain what that partner collects and how you can opt out.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and newsletter (such as our web host, MailerLite, Google, Payhip and its payment processors), when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you’re subscribed. Comments and their details are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Order records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics retention settings.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link at the bottom of every email. You can also email unbelievablygf@gmail.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it or delete it. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some information for legal, tax or security reasons.
California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and share; to ask us to delete or correct it; and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
Visitors from the EU and UK: You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. We send emails based on your consent, and we use analytics and security tools based on our legitimate interest in running a safe, useful site. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email unbelievablygf@gmail.com and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our recipes and posts link to other websites, including stores and brands. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
